Sharon Yvonne Stone was born on the 10th of March the year 1958 in Meadville, Pennsylvania, to the accountant Dorothy Lawson and tool and die manufacturer and former factory worker Joseph William Stone II. Three siblings are hers: Michael, Kelly, and Patrick. Stone began the second grade at just five. Her parents believed her to be gifted in the academic area. In 1975 she was a graduate of Saegertown high school located in Saegertown (Pennsylvania). The Miss Pennsylvania beauty competition saw her winning Miss Crawford County. Stone as well as her aunt relocated to New Jersey to New Jersey in order to pursue a career as a model in 1977. The two signed on with The Ford Modeling Agency after a few months. The next step was Europe in the course of a year in Milan, Paris and other cities. Stone however became disillusioned in Europe with the modelling business and decided to move into acting. Stone was a 20-year-old in Woody Allen's "Stardust Memories" which received mixed praises.
