Sharon Yvonne Stone is the only daughter born to Dorothy Lawson (an accountant) and Joseph William Stone II, who was a manufacturer of tool and dies, as well as a former employee of a plant. Sharon was born on the 10th of March, 1958, in Meadville Pennsylvania. Michael, Kelly and Patrick, are three of her siblings. Stone started second grade in kindergarten at the age of five. Saegertown Senior High School, Saegertown Pennsylvania is where she received her diploma in 1975. She also competed at the Miss Pennsylvania pageant and won Miss Crawford County. Stone relocated together with her aunt from New Jersey, where she was interested in pursuing a modeling career. A month later, Stone signed up at the Ford Modeling Agency. In Europe Stone spent a full year in Milano and Paris. Stone was unhappy with the model industry in Europe, and chose to focus on acting instead. Stone was a 20-year-old in Woody Allen's "Stardust Memories" which received mixed reviews.
