Sharon Yvonne Stone was born on March 10, 1958, in Meadville, Pennsylvania, to the accountant Dorothy Lawson and tool and die manufacturer and former factory worker Joseph William Stone II. Michael, Kelly and Patrick are her three siblings. Stone was considered academically gifted when she was a kid and started the second grade when she was five. In 1975 Stone graduated from Saegertown high school in Saegertown (Pennsylvania). In addition, she competed in the Miss Pennsylvania pageant and won Miss Crawford County. Stone moved from Pennsylvania to New Jersey in 1977 with her aunt in order to explore a career as an actress. In just a few months, Stone signed up for the Ford Modeling Agency. After that, she moved back to Europe and spent an entire year living in Milan and Paris. Stone was, however, unhappy with acting and modeling in Europe. Stone decided to keep her acting career going as an actress while she was in Europe. She was 20 when she appeared in the film of Woody Allen "Stardust Memories," that received mixed praises.
