In her teens, she was a dieter who yo-yo'd and watching her weight go up. Her stomach was constantly aching and ate emotional. She was aware that, when her parents died in their fifties and her mother suffered from complications due to arthritis and her father from cardiac arrest--that she needed to take a proactive approach to her well-being. It wasn't about dieting, but finding methods to maximize the function of our body.
